JOB SUMMARY/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The GIS Developer is responsible for Berkeley County Water and Sanitation’s overall GIS functions and provides GIS support in the daily maintenance and presentation of geographic data. Perform complex edits on new and existing water and sewer assets, utilizing raw CAD files (as-builts), GPS field work and general ArcGIS Geodatabase queries and maintenance. Provide GIS analysis, geoprocessing and complex mapping support to include editing existing and creating new maps using the ArcGIS 10.x suite of software. Performs ArcGIS Geodatabase maintenance, and related GIS quality assurance, quality control practices and procedures. Creates, maintains, tests and improves BCWS ArcGIS Server services and applications. Provides GIS technical support for new and existing GIS users. Maintains GIS software, including installation, upgrades and patches for staff. Coordinate technical GIS projects with outside systems, vendors and county staff. Create standard system products and cartographic presentations of GIS themes for staff. Contributes to the maintenance of the CMMS and EAM. Perform other duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s Degree in geography, GIS or related field and five (5) years related experience with GIS/GPS concepts and applications; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience with ArcGIS 10.x, GPS, Microsoft Office and Microsoft Windows 10.
Extensive knowledge or experience with ArcGIS Geodatabase, ArcMap Advanced for Desktop, ArcMap extensions, CAD files, ArcGIS Server, ArcGIS Web Mapping API’s and ArcGIS Online.
Ability to interpret complex information and troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues with strong problem solving skills.
Excellent oral and written communications skills are required.
Must be able to work autonomously, organized, detail oriented, and multi-tasking.
Departmental testing may be administered during interview.

Attends all required safety training, follows safety policies and procedures and uses appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) for assigned tasks.
HOURS OF WORK:
This position is classified as non-exempt and reports directly to the GIS Director. Thirty-seven and one half (37.5) hours per week. Normal office hours are Monday through Friday 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. with the ability to work after hours when necessary. Scheduled hours/days and location subject to change. May be required to work extra hours and to perform extra or different duties during emergency situations.

Entry Level Bi-Weekly Pay Range: $1953.81 - $2246.88
