Texas A&M University – Corpus Christi is a rapidly growing doctoral research university with more than 12,000 students. Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, College of Science & Engineering, Ph.D. in Geospatial Computing Sciences program, MS in Geospatial Systems Engineering (GSEN) program, and BS in Geographic Information Science (GISC) program, is seeking applications for two Assistant Professor of Geospatial Systems Engineering positions. The appointment can start as early as Spring 2018 and the positions will remain open until an offer has been made for each position.

Applicants must have a doctoral degree in Geospatial Science, Geomatics, Computer Science, or a closely related field, and should have a strong commitment to scholarly research and teaching excellence. Applicants should have a strong research background with previous professional activities related to GSEN with collaborative research experience. Candidates with expertise in one of the following areas are preferred:
1) Ubiquitous positioning, autonomous navigation, mobile sensing, and geoinformatics.
2) Geodetic science and surveying engineering, with expertise in areas such as satellite geodesy, gravimetry, hydrography, spatial reference systems and networks.

The basic job requirements include:
• Teaching undergraduate and graduate-level courses,
• Establishing and directing an active and externally funded research program,
• Publishing research results in archival journals with high impacts,
• Advising and recruiting Geospatial Computing Sciences Ph.D. students and Geospatial Surveying Engineering M.S. students,
• Representing the department in national and international functions,
• Experience teaching in an ABET accredited geomatics undergraduate program and experience in recruiting undergraduate students into the geospatial sciences would be advantageous.

The College of Science & Engineering Geographic Information Science undergraduate degree program is accredited by ABET, Inc.
