Title: Senior GIS Data Analyst / Programmer
Location: Denver, CO
The Sanborn Map Company is looking to fill a Senior GIS Data Analyst / Programmer position.

Sanborn is looking for a Senior GIS Data Analyst / Programmer to focus on implementing a new data model and maintaining an enterprise-wide Aquatics data management solution. The Analyst / Programmer will conduct data loading (using automation scripts and export/transform/load routines) from an external Aquatics data management system to the client’s system, manage geospatial data, develop and implement scripts, update documentation, participate in the review and design of the final technical solution, and train others in accessing and using the Aquatics database. This position is located in Denver, CO.
•Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Natural Resource, Geography/GIS, Engineering or related field*
•Five (5) years of directly related intensive and progressive experience
•Study, understand, and implement recommendations for Aquatic data management, data migration, and geoprocessing and automation scripts
•Maintain the hosted portion of the Aquatics data solution
•Coordinate hardware/architecture needs with agency staff
•Create, manage, and update existing data management tools using FME, Python, and/or SQL scripts
•Coordinate with client and academic partners on maintaining data collection, migration, and reporting solutions
•Manage and administer databases, including access privileges and indexes
•Ensure that data are documented consistent with client policy, including metadata
•Ensure that any spatial data or databases follow client spatial data standard operating procedures (SOPs)
•Conduct if needed, trainings on how to access Aquatics data in the newly implemented environment
•Create and manage additional data automation scripts as warranted by the Aquatics program
•Ensure that documentation of Aquatics data solution is current, including any tools, databases, services, or mobile applications
•Participate in Aquatics or EGIS calls as warranted
•Communicate with the Aquatics team any maintenance, down time, or data accessibility issues
•Assist with the management of data stored in various data management systems such as Geoportal Server, Microsoft Access data bases, SDE databases, file geodatabases, file storage servers, etc.
•Generate geospatial data, databases, analysis, maps, services and applications
•Explore, evaluate, or configure additional tools that may benefit the Aquatics data management solution, including Collector or Survey123 applications
•Professional experience of greater than 4 years with Esri’s ArcGIS Desktop software.
•Professional experience of greater than 2 years working in a multi-user, enterprise Geodatabase environment using Esri’s ArcSDE software.
•Professional experience of greater than 2 years with automation development using Python, FME, or R
•Professional experience creating tools to automate geospatial analysis, perform data QAQC, and generally create efficiencies through tools and automation
•Professional knowledge of technical problem-solving skills related to Geospatial Software.
•Professional knowledge in applying geospatial technologies to address natural resource and/or land management business requirements
•Ability to communicate technical information effectively to lay persons and geospatial technical experts alike
•Experience in developing written technical documentation (e.g., metadata, workflow diagrams, white papers, etc.)
•Ability to work with projects of varying timelines, from yearlong implementation schedules, to products with quick turnaround production within hours.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE WITH THE FOLLOWING A PLUS
•Demonstrated knowledge using SQL Server in conjunction with Enterprise Geospatial database
•2 years’ experience using ArcGIS Desktop10.3 or higher

•National Criminal History Check (NCHC)
•Release to Obtain Credit Information
•PIV card application
If selected to fill the position, a candidate would be required to pass a drug screen and satisfy the requirements of a National Criminal History Check (NCHC) to verify the identity of the individual applying for clearance and to determine the individual’s suitability for the position.
The position may require occasional travel.
