ERM is seeking a detailed, self-starting AutoCAD/Civil Designer to join our consulting firm in Annapolis, Maryland. You will provide high-quality AutoCAD capability for drafting as well as civil design work as a part of a design team of engineers and scientists. The projects will focus on waste management, linear and utility construction, site remediation, earthwork/site-civil and related engineering in support of the overall environmental focus of the firm. This is an opportunity to lead and build a multi-individual capability in this local office, with support and leadership from corporate resources. An interest in the environmental field, an introductory knowledge of GIS, and potential interest in field support activities during design and construction would all be a plus.
Provide high-quality technical support for drafting, graphics, data visualization, ArcMap and AutoCAD needs on projects and proposals, while successfully managing multiple deadline-driven tasks.
Prepare site plans and grading plans using AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
Prepare construction-ready design drawings, including plans, sections, profiles and details, as well as groundwater elevation and contaminant concentration contour maps, geological cross-sections, and conceptual site model depictions.
Prepare earthwork-grading plans, cut/fill cross-sections, process flow diagrams, piping and-10instrumentation diagrams, and civil/mechanical design details.
Work within quality/budget/schedule expectations and scope-specific assignments.
Complete work assignments in accordance with ERM's management system, format and quality standards.
Associates or relevant BA/BS degree, or equivalent technical trade school certification, and 5 to 10 years of relevant experience with AutoCAD (preferably in the civil, environmental or remediation consulting industry).
Experience preparing/delivering work described above and using relevant software.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Effective written/verbal communication and organization/analytical skills; proven problem solving abilities.
Ability to succeed in a consulting pace, handling multiple project assignments with different staff on projects throughout the world and with multiple geographic locations, and maintaining flexibility while meeting strict deadlines.
GIS skills a plus.
