Role: Geospatial Project Manager

Role Summary:

The Geospatial Project Manager is responsible for leading a team and delivering client solutions for the Air Force at Scott Air Force Base. Primary responsibilities include enterprise integration planning, lifecycle project planning and management, client communications, and ensuring successful completion of the solution design and implementation with technical team support.

Essential Functions:

Enterprise integration planning, lifecycle project planning and management,
Client communications, and ensuring successful completion of the solution design and implementation with technical team support
Provide project oversight of medium-to-large, integrated geospatial projects
Facilitate, manage and execute project activities from large or complex GIS tasks that may include enterprise systems integration, data maintenance and migration, and geospatial analysis projects
Provide technical oversight and develop standards for business line activities integrating with the enterprise GIS
Develop, maintain and report on project plans and schedules
Mentor technical staff and foster a good working environment through knowledgeable, effective, hands-on technical and management oversight and support

Competencies and Skills:

Demonstrated knowledge of project management methodologies and tools (e.g. Microsoft Project)
Demonstrated understanding of geospatial technologies
Ability to plan, organize and manage project schedules, tasks, and deliverables
A passion for working with teammates and customers to solve problems
Dynamic, personable and self-motivated personality
Exceptional customer service orientation
Outstanding written and oral communication skills

Experience Required:

Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Geography/GIS, Science, Engineering, Business or another related field*
5+ years of Project Management experience in DoD environment

* Additional experience can be substituted for education
** Additional education can be substituted for years of experience

Ideal (in addition to required experience):

Experience with DoD IGI&S programs, standards and systems
Experience managing staff
Formal project management training and/or certification (e.g. PMP)

Work Environment:

Location: Onsite at Scott Air Force Base – St. Clair County, IL
Travel up to 20%
