Title: Geospatial Data Coordinator
geocgi is looking for a Geospatial Data Coordinator to support the Scenario Branch at the NATO Joint Warfare Centre (JWC) in Stavanger, Norway. This is a remote position with the expectation to travel. The role of the Geospatial Data Coordinator is to gather requirements, create, (including demonstrate & review), deliver, and maintain a new Scenario Branch data source with geospatial integration. This includes the identification of standardized data sources, implementation of data types, attribution, and domains; employing best practices to create and manage vector geospatial data.
The Geospatial Data Coordinator will be a Subject Matter Expert (SME) and responsible for consulting with JWC Scenario Branch and Exercise Production staff in data source usage within Portal for ArcGIS. Candidates must be knowledgeable of common geospatial data standards, sources, formats, and Esri enterprise geodatabase capabilities
Furthermore, JWC is a multi-tasking environment that demands innovation, communication, and organizational skills.
Candidates will be expected to:
Engage stakeholders, gather requirements, and lead the transformation of requirements into data schemas that meet their business needs
Perform research and analysis of existing data standards and sources
Integrate business systems and other geospatial organizational data through primary and foreign keys, maintaining data integrity and authority
Load, maintain, update, append data as appropriate through geoprocessing tools and python scripts
Handle proprietary, classified, and unclassified data
Monitor data source performance, status, and effectiveness
The following are requirements of the potential candidate:
Bachelors or masters in geography, computer science, engineering, mathematics, GIS, or a related field, depending on position level
5+ years designing and managing a complex database infrastructure or related
Demonstrated proficiency with ArcGIS Enterprise and Portal for ArcGIS/ArcGIS Online
Active US Secret Security Clearance
Must have a valid US Passport
The following are desired capabilities and experience of the potential candidate:
Strong initiative characteristics and teaming skills.
Experience managing the front-end and back-end database functions and performance.
Good understanding of key design principles for data architecture, design, and development.
Certifications (GISP, Security+, Esri, Microsoft, PMP)
ArcGIS Server, ArcGIS Online, and Portal for ArcGIS Administration
Ability to work independently and proactively to take initiative to solve complex problems
Excellent writing and communication skills
