Position Description:

Parsons Corporation is seeking to hire a Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Analyst for a contract position with our client, based at United States Marine Corps Camp Butler, Okinawa, Japan.

The position is part of a team of GIS professionals providing mapping support for military training areas for the United States Marine Corps throughout the continental United States, Hawaii, Guam, and Japan. This is a full-time position.

This exciting and challenging role will allow you to apply and develop your technical experience through working with state-of-the-art GIS technology, and develop your coordination and project management skills through liaising with customers and GIS stakeholders.

Project Tasks Include:
• GIS Database Development, Map Production, GIS Data Acquisition, Field GIS Data Collection, Coordination with other geospatial data managers / data stewards and stakeholders.

Technical Skills:
• Bachelor’s degree in geography, remote sensing, engineering, environmental science, natural resource management, and/or equivalent degree; and three (3) or more years of geographic information systems experience i
• Esri ArcGIS Desktop user – 3 or more years’ experience (version 10)
• Experience with geodatabase management, editing, GIS data development and standardization, including performing quality control on attributes, metadata, topology and spatial accuracy.
• Experience of field survey using handheld GPS
• Capable of producing customized cartographic and analysis products using ArcGIS

• Experience writing and troubleshooting automation scripts in Python for ArcGIS.
• Experience working in a multiuser versioned geodatabase environment.
• Experience Image Processing in ERDAS Imagine.
• Experience working with the SDSFIE geodatabase model.
• Experience working with ArcGIS Server, ArcGIS Online and ArcGIS Online Applications is a plus.
• Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator)

Personal Skills:
• Self-Motivated, independent work ethic, capable of prioritizing own work with minimal supervision.
• Ability to coordinate and build relationships with customers and provide technical GIS briefings to GIS users and managers through meetings, working groups, conferences, and outreach events.
• Fluent English, written and spoken.
• Valid & Clean Driving License
• Clean Police Background Check from current place of residence.
• Ability to pass a background check for access to DoD networks
• Must be a US Citizen
