Entry-Level GIS Technician � Full and/or Part-Time - Charlotte, North Carolina

Theorem Geo (TG) is currently seeking a GIS Technician for either full- or part-time work to provide support to a large investor-owned utility (IOU) in the Charlotte, NC area.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

� Deed interpretation and correlation mapping to update and maintain real estate layers within an ESRI software environment
� Creating and editing features and associated attributes in a GIS environment
� Finding and correcting errors in GIS data
� Support the attainment of necessary data from various state/county agencies.
� Ability to communicate effectively, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively interface with both internal and external customers.
� Provide support in the acquisition of database information and collect detailed and specific data, filter the data of pertinent information, and upload the data into current GIS platforms.
� Provide quality control by ensuring data is filed into proper classification parameters
� Create and edit features and associated attributes.
� Implement periodic database updates to the current GIS system.
� Transfer collected data onto GIS system/server using applicable software.
� Modify and update database and track project progress.

Experience and Skill Requirements:

� At least one year work experience or college experience with coursework in Geography, GIS, or a related field preferred
� Pertinent experience working with ESRI�s ArcGIS v10.xx or ArcGIS Pro Software, including creating and editing features and attributes
� Competence with MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc)
� Proficiency with data management, organization, a willingness to learn, and ability to ask questions to obtain desired results if unclear of the task at hand
� The fortitude to grind through repetitive tasks
� Excellent problem-solving skills

Location: Charlotte, NC � Candidate must be able to commute within the Charlotte area.
Although most work will be performed remotely, periodic in-office work will be required.
