If you are passionate about using your talents to positively impact Chesapeake, the Information Technology Department is hiring a GIS Analyst for our team of innovative professionals. This position supports the Enterprise-wide geospatial platform with an emphasis on Public Safety. Using a thorough knowledge of geospatial principles, this position develops and integrates GIS-centric enterprise solutions and services.

We are seeking a GIS Analyst with experience in Portal for ArcGIS, ArcGIS Desktop/Pro, and ArcGIS Online. The GIS Analyst will use the geospatial platform and various tools to provide departments with geospatial solutions including analysis and web applications. This position provides geospatial support for emergency operations.

Duties & Responsibilities
-Administer the New World CAD geospatial components, compile relevant data, and format as needed
-Create and maintain feature services, web maps, and web applications within Portal for ArcGIS and ArcGIS Online
-Update various feature classes in the Enterprise geodatabase to support analysis and web applications
-Assist departments with utilizing geospatial services for their business needs
-Quality control spatial locations and attributes adhering to defined requirements.
-Create processes and tools for mobile use of GIS for data collection and consumption.
-Analyze data sets and build ad-hoc reporting for leadership.

Desired Skills
-ArcGIS 10.8.x or higher and/or ArcGIS Pro training/education preferred.
-Experience with Portal for ArcGIS, ArcGIS Online, and Web GIS principles
-Experience with automating processes and scripting languages like Python
-Knowledge of public safety data preferred.
-Familiar with Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel).
-Good communication (verbal and written) and listening skills.
-Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
-Self-motivation, adaptability, and ability to meet deadlines.
GISP or ESRI certification a plus

Salary: $59,249-$77,024; Depending on Qualifications
