Position Summary
Seeking a skilled and detail-oriented GIS Business System Analyst to join our team. The GIS Business System Analyst will play a pivotal role in promoting Geospatial technology to drive development, maintenance, and analysis of data, ensuring accuracy, data quality, and efficient usability. This role involves working collaboratively with internal teams and external partners to convert, analyze, and manipulate spatial data using GIS tools and techniques. A degree in Geography with a specialization in GIS provides a strong foundation in geographic concepts and spatial analysis techniques. This background can help the analyst understand the geographical aspects of business processes and how to integrate GIS technology to solve business challenges.
Basic Function: Analyze and maintain data and applications associated to ESRI ArcGIS Enterprise and the Maximo Spatial system.
Essential Functions:
Maintain the integrity of data and performance of enterprise Geographic Information Systems and oversee the ArcGIS/Maximo daily integrations and provide trouble shooting on related issues.
Streamline the GeoWorx Sync interface between the ArcGIS and Maximo systems.
Provide support to the client group in identifying issues, understanding the business needs and providing solutions. Must be able to effectively work in a team environment.
Communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical users.
Work as the applications subject matter expert to assist with system testing and signoff, prior to loading new releases and patches into production.
Keep system setup codes, configurations, and documentation up to date to maintain standards and best practices, high performance of the system, reduce downtime, and high user productivity.
Recommend new solutions and upgrades in alignment with strategic plans and business requirements.
Perform all duties inherent in all supervisory, professional, and administrative positions. Consistent with all positions in this classification, additional projects, tasks and/or duties beyond what is outlined may be assigned as required. Maximo knowledge of Maximo software and Maximo Spatial GIS.
Support ArcGIS Portal/Online and GIS desktop users from across the organization. Coordinate with GIS team members responses to questions and concerns with documentation.
Support administering ArcGIS Enterprise software (ArcGIS Server, Portal for ArcGIS, ArcGIS Data Store, and other components) and promptly respond to issues and performance concerns raised by users; Create and maintain ESRI Enterprise Web Applications, Dashboards, Story Maps, and mobile applications in Field Maps / Collector Maps,
Monitor software to address performance issues, errors, hardware overutilization and track usage trends (using system monitoring tools such as ArcGIS Monitor). As well as develop documentation for users and system administrators as well as best practices and guidelines for using the ArcGIS Enterprise (Portal and online) as needed.
Required Background:
Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of relevant experience.
Master’s degree with 3 years of relevant experience.
Equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
Qualifications
Required Skills:
Previous and demonstrated work experience in GIS Software and Libraries. ArcMap, ArcGIS Pro, GDAL, QGIS, GRASS, Postgres, SQL
Knowledge of Windows-based hardware and software applications
Excellent analytical skills in diagnosing application problems and developing solutions.
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Must have a strong understanding on geodatabase design and cartographic skills for optimized user experience navigating and collecting data.
Excellent client relations and customer service skills
Preferred Background:
Working knowledge ESRI GIS related systems and tools like ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online
Microsoft Office Tools (Excel, Word, Power Point, etc.), Microsoft Visio (Process Drawings)
Proficiency in writing SQL scripts
Capable of working with Oracle databases and extracting data for analysis.
ArcGIS Enterprise Administration Professional certification or demonstrated experience required. ESRI related enterprise administration courses - a plus.
Windows Operating Systems
GISP certificate is a plus.
GIS programming skills (Model Builder, Python, SQL, R)
ESRI Utility Network / Geometric Network knowledge is a plus.
Working with GNSS/GPS Data and Receivers.
Familiarity with how ArcGIS for Server connects to enterprise geodatabases along with how to debug and resolve issues with those connections.
Expertise with python including packages such as arcpy, pandas and NumPy with focus on processing of spatial data (Mainly on ESRI platforms; Notebooks)
