Position Description:
Overview: Provides short, middle, and long-range planning for proactive, realistic, and fiscally sound solutions to Geographic Information System (GIS). Primary functions cover tasks associated with the system and database administration of the GIS. This position also coordinates knowledge transfer of GIS users and the continued functional development of the GIS programs.
Responsibilities:
The GIS Administrator oversees Geographic Information Systems (GIS) for the whole company, including applications, data, virtual servers, portals, and maintenance.
GIS Administrator will be expected to be both technically proficient as a technology professional but also have management skills to help train, mentor, and develop the team.
Design and create spatial geodatabase. Data digitization and processing. Create and running data tuning scripts. Responsible for assigning the roles and privileges in the geodatabase. Design and migrate geodatabase to later version. QC/QA geodatabase. Monitor Database performance. Design and create data integration among different systems.
Responsible for upgrades and updates to the GIS servers. Responsible for upgrades and updates GIS software, License, extensions, and geodatabase. Monitor GIS Servers and applications.
The GIS Administrator role requires collaboration with other GIS entities across the department, City, County, and State to develop and maintain spatial databases and to ensure the reliability of data and content.
Responsible for upgrades and manages GIS Enterprise system.
Responsible for the implementation, upgrades, and management of the ArcGIS Utility Network (UN)
Experience:
Experience developing mapping solutions for non-routine GIS projects regarding map deliverables, web map solutions, and mobile applications.
Experience with GIS planning, implementation, and evaluation of GIS software and technology, data acquisition and storage, spatial analysis, and cartographic deliverables
Experience with the Esri suite of products (Desktop & Enterprise Environments), geodatabase design skills, Experience with Esri software including ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Enterprise: ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Server, ArcGIS Online, Portal for ArcGIS, ArcGIS Runtime, and their associated APIs or interfaces.
Programming and scripting experience with Python, JavaScript, Arcade in a GIS environment.
Experience implementing and managing ArcGIS Utility Network (UN) is a plus.
