The City of De Pere has an exciting opportunity for a GIS Manager to join our Development Services team! The GIS Manager will be responsible for the administration, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of the citywide Geographic Information System (GIS). The work of the GIS Manager involves utilizing GIS software to develop, create, maintain, edit and update citywide GIS databases. The typical work schedule is Monday - Thursday, 7:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. and Friday, 7:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. However, the City of De Pere recognizes the importance of its employees having a proper work-life balance and supports alternative work arrangements which include alternative work schedules, flexible scheduling and remote work to help meet your lifestyle needs. In addition, new employees receive three weeks of vacation time per year beginning on the first day of work (prorated the first year).
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in geography, geographic information systems, engineering or closely related field from an educational institution accredited by a DOE recognized accreditation body.
2. Three to five years progressive experience involving support of and creation of geographic mapping, planning and GIS data maintenance and analysis.
3. Current GISP certificate or the ability to obtain one is desirable.
4. Valid unencumbered Wisconsin driver’s license and safe driving record.
A combination of education and/or experience may be considered.
Salary: The full salary range for 2024 for this position is expected to be $78,416 - $112,008 plus excellent benefits package. The anticipated starting salary is $78,416 - $94,078 depending on qualifications. The City of De Pere rewards employees for exceptional work performance with a pay for performance incentive program. Employees may be awarded a salary increase, bonus, or paid time off for exceptional work performance.
Public Student Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) Program: The City of De Pere is a qualifying employer under the PSLF Program. The PSLF Program is a federal program that is intended to encourage individuals to work in public service by forgiving the balance of their federal student loans. To qualify, the individual must have made 120 qualifying payments while employed by a qualifying employer.
