Geosyntec has an exciting opportunity for a Staff GIS Data Analyst in our New England branch, which includes offices in Acton, MA and Bedford, NH. The position will apply academic knowledge and solid understanding and experience with standard practices and techniques used when working with environmental data and GIS projects to support projects that include environmental assessments, groundwater remediation, water and natural resources management, geotechnical construction, and more.

Compiling, verifying and analyzing large and diverse environmental datasets;
Designing, developing, and producing data visualization outputs and report figures using ArcGIS software;
Interacting with internal and external providers to coordinate collection and transfer of data to project geodatabases;
Developing GIS projects using ESRI ArcGIS software (Version 10.x) and ArcGIS Pro (Version 3.1.x);
Use and understanding of geographic positioning system (GPS) equipment for data collection;
Interacting with internal and external clients to support GIS management and data visualization for environmental engineering, and geoscience projects.
Bachelor's degree in geography, science, geology or related degree. (required)
Advanced degree in the same. (preferred)
Prior internship experience in environmental consulting. (preferred)
2 years of experience working in a professional environment. (preferred)
Experience using with ESRI ArcGIS Desktop or ArcGIS Pro. (required)
Experience with ArcGIS Online. (preferred)
Understanding of coordinate systems and map projections. (required)
Proficiency in cartographic concepts and techniques of making maps and visualizing data, and the ability to provide sample work. (required)
Knowledge of laboratory analytical data related to environmental sampling and chemical analysis. (preferred)
Proficiency with Microsoft Access and/or EQuIS. (preferred)
Experience with the front-end processes of collecting field data with various GPS units, ArcGIS Collector, Survey123, and the process of downloading and compiling the data. (preferred)
Ability to automate processes using scripts (e.g. Python). (preferred)
Direct experience managing environmental, geologic, and geotechnical datasets. (preferred)
Occasional field work and overnight travel.
Health & Safety training, medical monitoring, and client-driven drug and background testing.
Valid U.S. driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required)
