Title: Temporary GIS Technician & Data Reporting Specialist
Location: Hood River, OR
This position will provide mapping, reporting, and facility asset management of electric and internet infrastructure using the co-op’s GIS and work management systems. This position is authorized for 1,000 hours in this calendar year and may be converted to a permanent role. Under the guidance of the Engineering & Technology Manager and following HR Co-op GIS standards for mapping, the GIS Technician will:
Assist in the maintenance and operation of the GIS and work order systems.
Assist in performing edits and queries using NISC’s Mapping and GIS tools.
Assist in creating, modifying, and updating the electric and fiber GIS network model.
Assist in validating data manipulation, integrity and accuracy of databases and tables.
Assist in data analysis and reporting by obtaining, manipulating, and organizing data.
Assist in routine GIS mapping and data maintenance projects and tasks.
Assist in the research and documentation of HR Co-op’s GIS and workflow procedures.
Assist with field data collection as well as post processing and/or data input into GIS.
Assist in the creation of maps and map products in response to map requests.
Performs tasks as assigned to help meet co-op mapping and reporting goals.

ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Collector, ArcGIS Survey123
NISC’s Mapping and Staking software
Relational database fundamentals and SQL programming skills
Intermediate to advanced uses of Microsoft Excel
Salary: DOE, with an expected starting wage of $28-32 an hour.

About HR Co-op
HR Co-op has 22 employees who provide electric service to approximately 4,000 meters and fixed wireless and fiber internet service to approximately 3,100 subscribers. We have a team-oriented work environment and are focused on serving members reliably, affordably, and efficiently.
HR Co-op’s electric service territory encompasses the middle and upper portions of the Hood River Valley in the Columbia River Gorge, including the unincorporated communities of Odell, Parkdale, and Mount Hood. We provide internet service within our electric service area, as well as within the city of Hood River and in the Dee area.
The Hood River Valley is bordered by the Columbia River to the north and by the Mt. Hood National Forest to the west, south, and east. The area is known for its tree fruit agriculture industry. Nearby outdoor recreation opportunities are abundant, including hiking, windsurfing, kiteboarding, skiing, mountain biking, whitewater sports, camping, and fishing.
Job Related Qualifications
Associate degree or equivalent in geographic information systems, plus a minimum of one (1) year of experience providing GIS functions.
Experience with National Information Solutions Cooperative (NISC) iVue software suite
Experience with ESRI software suite
Any combination of education and experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and ability required to perform the job.
