Position Description:

This position performs professional, technical and administrative work using Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and other information technology software for the Parks and Conservation Resources Department. Completes technical analyses, supports operations, and develops workflows to support Cityworks asset management and other departmental processes and strategies. Duties include, but are not limited to: developing maps, reports, and other technical documents to support internal and external decisions; developing, editing, and maintaining GIS data layers and metadata; collecting field data using GPS; interpreting aerial photographs; completing and automating GIS processing workflows; importing and processing CAD information; conducting complex spatial analysis; providing training and technical support for department GIS users; and assisting in the development and management of GIS and asset management applications for use by department staff and the general public. Work is performed under the general direction of a program supervisor.
