Coffman Associates is an aviation planning company, and we have been serving airports across the country for more than 44 years. We are seeking a GIS analyst with 1-5 years’ experience for our Overland Park, KS office. Being a multi-disciplinary firm, we are seeking an individual to join our team of professionals in the development of airports across the country. This position offers great potential for professional growth in a small team environment. Project work involves using applied GIS on everything from basic maps to complex analysis, and even an opportunity for programming. Whether you’re just starting your career or are experienced, we have a place for you. This is not a remote position, and you must be willing to relocate to the Kansas City area. Salary is commensurate with experience and ranges from $16- $38/hr.

Job Responsibilities:
Daily tasks may include:
• Communicating with our planning, graphics, environmental, and GIS teams to produce maps, graphics, exhibits, and 3d visualizations for reports, studies, client support, and public outreach.
• Provide programming to automate basic GIS tasks.
• Collect, develop, and analyze GIS data datasets for airport and environmental work.
• Program Python, JavaScript, PHP, and ArcGIS Enterprise Administration.

Basic Qualifications:
• B.S/B.A in Geography with emphasis on GIS.
• 1-5 years of professional work experience in GIS.
• Knowledge and experience with GIS applications, including ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Pro, and ArcGIS Online.
• Ability to use applied GIS to collect and process data.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD Map.
• Be a team player in a small corporate environment with strong oral, written, and communication skills.
• Be able to independently work on assigned tasks with limited direction.

Desirable:
• Desire to learn ArcServer/Portal programming in support of an already developed suite of web tools for client use.
• Knowledge of how web mapping works
• Basic understanding of GIS Python programming
• Use of ESRI Spatial Analyst, 3d Analyst, and Network Analyst extensions
• Ability to develop Airport Layout Plan sets in GIS.
