Position Description:

The City of Thornton, Colorado currently has 2 vacancies for GIS Developer:
• One has a focus on Public Safety support, working closely with our Police & Fire departments
• One provides Citywide support to a variety of departments

The full salary range for this position is $94,743 - $125,061 annually. The appropriate hiring rate will be determined by considering the applicant's experience, education, and internal equity.

ABOUT YOU
The ideal candidate for both of these roles would be someone with in-depth experience with geographic information systems (GIS) integrations, custom map creation, and statistical analysis. A positive attitude and a team-oriented mindset are a must. The ideal candidate thrives on diverse tasks, skillfully balancing priorities and multitasking to manage varying workloads effectively.

ABOUT THE GIS DEVELOPER - CITYWIDE
The GIS Developer with citywide support is responsible for designing, developing, and GIS applications and solutions to support the diverse needs of our organization. This position works closely with various departments to deliver innovative GIS solutions that enhance operational efficiency, decision-making, and data analysis.

In addition to the description above, the ideal candidate for this role is someone who wants to make a difference for the Thornton Community as a whole and enjoys working with a variety of departments.

ABOUT THE GIS DEVELOPER - PUBLIC SAFETY
The GIS Developer supporting Public Safety serves as the point of contact for all Public Safety GIS resource needs and acts as the content expert for GIS data in Computer Aided Dispatch systems. This position represents Thornton’s Public Safety interests in regional data efforts and coordinates with GIS operations located in other departments.
