Position Description:

The GIS Analyst is responsible for all aspects of managing, editing, converting, creating, documenting, testing, training and supporting GIS datasets, systems and applications.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

• Manage and maintain geospatial data using GIS software.


• Migrate data from external formats into ArcGIS® geodatabases.


• Support database design, spatial analysis, and modeling tasks.


• Advise clients on GIS best practices, including workflows and data governance.


• Respond to support requests via phone, web conference, and Zendesk.


• Contribute to software documentation, testing, and quality assurance.


• Assist Project Managers with planning, estimation, and deliverables.


• Communicate task status and issues to team members and managers.


• Continuously seek improvements to processes and team collaboration.


• Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications (Education, Experience, Skills, and Abilities)

• Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Geography or a related field


• 3-5 years of experience with ArcGIS® Desktop or ArcGIS® Pro.


• Strong spatial data analysis and geodatabase management skills.


• Telecom-specific GIS knowledge, including fiber network mapping.


• Ability to manage and convert large datasets related to telecommunications.


• Experience with conversion and automation tools like Python, ArcPy or FME.


• Experience creating, managing and modifying local and enterprise geodatabases and schemas


• Must have good time management skills and the ability to work under minimal supervision.


• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Additional Qualifications Preferred, but not required

• Experience using CrescentLink® software


• Experience with ArcGIS® Enterprise geodatabase Replication and Versioning


• Feature Services and Data Stores


• Experience using ArcGIS® Enterprise, ArcGIS® Online, FME
